About

Qianao is a composer and orchestrator who specializes in writing music for films and videos games. Coming from a Civil Engineering and Architecture background in his Bachelor, he earned his Master’s degree in music from Frost School of Music, University of Miami, majoring in Media Scoring and Production. While his main expertise lies in writing for orchestras, he also has a wide interest in different music genres, from classical music, choir, folk and ethnic music to contemporary genres like rock, electronic, jazz and pop. He’s pursuing becoming a multi-voiced composer and is always eager to meet new challenges, explore and integrate different musical languages into his work. As a composer from China, he also wishes to express the emotion in a unique storytelling way with the influence from his culture background. In his spare time, he also acts as a photographer and video editor for landscape, promotional video and music performance.

During his two years of study at Frost School of Music, he collaborated with film directors, game developers and other artists. His works were performed by the HMI Orchestral and musicians from Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. His original film score has also been performed at the Bill Cosford Cinema.
